CEES BRUERS Bought BRUERS HORSES ANIMALS IN 1981 AS A YEARLING

And Cees had seen it right, many international successes were achieved by offspring of this ‘old mare’, Walve!

It has been 40 years since Cees and his wife Nel went out together to purchase a broodmare. They got to see a beautiful mare with a perfect pedigree, but Cees’s attention was soon turned to a young horse that he saw. After obtaining some information, Cees and Nel Bruers did not go home with a broodmare, but with a young one-year-old horse named Walve, born in 1980. And it is with this decision that the Bruers family has laid a great foundation for breeding showjumping horses. with special properties. For example Utascha, out of the line of Walve, who has achieved many international successes under both Eric van der Vleuten and Jeroen Dubbeldam. The ‘Old Mare’ as Walve was called by the Bruers family showed off to the end and lives on in the successful offspring, many of which can be found in top sport and are still present in breeding today.
